The big idea!

 

I am a very keen motorcyclist and also for my sins have been involved the development and production of knitted fabrics for the last 25 yrs, but less of the pre amble and get to the real motivation behind this story.

 

With the modern catastrophe of Global Warming it gets very hot wearing motorcycle gear even in cold old England in the summer. You sit at traffic lights waiting to get moving and get some wind flowing around you again, but in the meantime you fry inside your leathers. You’re back, arms and other areas of your body I will not mention perspire. You know the feeling, more fun digging the garden at home perhaps?

 

Well! I thought there’s got to be a better way of enjoying the best form of transport ever invented.

 

At last me thinks, something I can do to improve the enjoyment of mine other motorcyclist and at the same time hopefully, take advantage of my misspent youth in the textile mills as a knitting machine mechanic.

 

So I set up Becka coolwear with the wife Sue and my son Adam, I thought it best to have youth and beauty on my side (creep). The sole purpose was very selfish I know, but developing a fabric capable of doing the required job was not as easy as I thought.

 

But 2 years later and with the aid of modern technology in synthetic yarns and natural fibre we managed to develop a fabric which is very absorbent, dries quickly and has exceptional wicking properties. This enables garments produced in this fabric to work in conjunction with the rider’s body; it soaks up perspiration quickly taking it from your sticky bits to the outside of the garment keeping you dry and feeling cooler and more comfortable.

 

So all I needed now was the design for the garment, HELP!
