You’re looking at this page so I can only assume you want to know how the garment works. Well here goes, the fabric is knitted to gives the fabric stretch and comfort.

There are two types of yarn used to produce the fabric, one we all know as cotton, the yarn is combed to get out all the lumps making a nice smooth soft surface to the face of the garment. Cotton has very special properties, it is very absorbent and gets stronger the more wet it gets. So far so good, now we need to transfer the moisture from our body into the cotton on the face of the garment whilst at the same time keep the moisture away from the skin.

The other fibre in the garment has been around for years and called polyester, however the yarn has recently been redesigned and the core of the fibre used in the yarn has a capillary action due to the way the fibre is formed from the spinneret of the machine. The cross section of the fibre is hollow along the core and draws away moisture known in the trade as wicking.

The face of the fabric is cotton which sits next to the leather or other type of motorcycle garment used and the synthetic fibre is next to the skin. Moisture is drawn away from the skin and disperses into the cotton where the moisture is absorbed into the fibre and the skin is left dry and feels cooler and more comfortable.

The knitted fabric has two distinct sides, the smooth cotton on the face and the synthetic on the inner side of the fabric, this is a special knitted construction and the fabric is known as “quikDRY”
